Meh. It happens.
I really do try to avoid it. But there are times when I just cannot make up my mind. There are a million things I want to knit…with minimal time to knit it in. Usually, it is during a time when I really just want to get my hands on some needles and into some yarn. Gets so bad, I don’t even care what I knit, as long as I am knitting something (…an odd and desperate situation for me because I generally only knit gifts or things I have a current use for). Once I start swatching though, I realize there are restrictions to prevent that indecisiveness for very long.
Take my sock yarn in the above photo. It’s a good amount. I just think I might need more. So, it needs a contrasting yarn for the cuffs, the heels, and the toesies.
Then, since we moved back, I have been thinking that I would love to make some housewares….just not in white.
With the exception of the cranberry carpet in the living room and the blue walls in Boy Child’s room, most of the colors in our home are on the neutral side.
Ahh. That’s better!
So, after taking a gander around the house, hunting for something to knit, I came across a project just waiting to happen. A tattered, worn out pillow hubby mistakenly thinks should be a permanent fixture in the sun room. Yup. That’ll do.
But, after knitting on the pillow a bit, I realized something…
Now I need more yarn for it, lol.
Fortunately, during all the swatching and the initial knitting, I do think up something I actually need to knit…
…which usually requires another trip for more yarn anyway! :)
Restrictions aren’t so bad after all. ;)
