Merry Christmas! And who was still Christmas knitting today…hmmmm?

Ooh! Ooh! Can I answer (raises hand and does what looks like a pee pee dance). Me!!

I woke up intending to fit in a knit for my mother this morning, so it was a good thing I finished Girl Child's socks some time around 2 a.m, lol. I actually did a no-no and tried them on her when she was asleep. Thankfully, they did fit. Whew!

Here she is with socks on over her commercial socks.

I think I like this whole color scheme! And I had just enough yarn to complete them with no issues.
My mom's gift turned out to be a quick ribbed cowl.
I really was going to skip knitting for my mom this Christmas. I haven't seen her wear very many of the knits I have made for her in the past. I used to think she didn't like them. But, I now believe it's a function of the sheer volume of clothing and accessories she has! Coming from a person that has to ransack the closet every morning for something conservative-looking to wear to work, clearly, I did not get that gene. In fact, I run to her house whenever I need some earrings or to get all gussied up for some event. Strangely enough, I never run out of sweats, jeans and t-shirts… Still, I try to keep knits for her sweet and simple. If they are going to get lost in her sea of a wardrobe, no sense in knocking myself out over it, lol. So here's a shout out to all the last-minute knitters out there…I'm right there with you!
A two-hour knit using a luxury yarn. This is baby alpaca.
Add two sheets of good scrapbook paper, a bandana and a pretty button. Tags are optional, but a nice touch.
And a gift card usually doesn't hurt either. ;)

All done. And just in time. Here come the folks!

Merry Christmas!
